The Member representing Ibadan North Constituency 2 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel, fondly known as the Jagaban of the 9th and 10th Assembly, has extended heartfelt greetings to Muslim faithful in his constituency, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1447.

In a goodwill message released to mark the significant spiritual milestone, Hon. Babajide Gabriel acknowledged the Hijrah as more than a historic migration, it is a symbol of transformation, sacrifice, and divine purpose.

“The Hijrah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) stands as a timeless reminder of the importance of faith in action, perseverance in adversity, and trust in Allah’s divine plan,” he said.

Hon. Babajide Gabriel urged Muslims to see the new Hijrah year as an opportunity to renew their faith, recommit to the path of righteousness, and work collectively toward societal betterment.

“As we step into this new Islamic year, let us recommit ourselves to the values of justice, tolerance, discipline, and sincere service to humanity.

Our society needs more compassion, more unity, and unwavering commitment to peace,” he noted.

The lawmaker further encouraged citizens to imbibe the spirit of Hijrah by contributing positively to the development of their communities and by upholding the moral values taught by Islam.

He prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants the Muslim ummah divine grace, spiritual growth, and success in all their endeavors.

“May this year be filled with divine guidance, protection, and countless blessings for every Muslim home.

May it usher in peace, economic stability, and enduring progress for Oyo State and our great nation,” he added.

Hon. Babajide Gabriel concluded by wishing all Muslims a joyful, peaceful, and fulfilling Hijrah 1447.
