Hon. Waheed Akintayo, member representing Oluyole State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has appointed Miss Aliyah Olatunji, the 20-year-old daughter of late Sulaimon Akande Olatunji, a prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole and Personal Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Hon. Akeem Olatunji

Hon. Akintayo appointed Aliyah Olatunji as the Youth Liaison Officer of the honourable member in Oluyole constituency.

This gesture is seen as a tribute to the late Olatunji, who passed away recently.

While handing over the letter of appointment to Miss Aliyah Olatunji after the three-day Fidau for her deceased father, Hon. Akintayo said the appointment underscores his commitment to honoring the legacy of the deceased and his dedication to the People’s Democratic Party in Oluyole and Oyo state in general.

The lawmaker said the appointment was also to ensure that late Olatunji’s contributions continue to be recognized, and in a way, to encourage youths’ involvement in the political process as exemplified by the people’s Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde

Hon. Waheed Akintayo however commiserated with the family, the entire people of Oluyole constituency and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Oyo state, praying that the Almighty Allah grant everybody the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

The move has been met with positive reactions from the community, who view it as a meaningful way to keep the memory of Sulaimon Olatunji alive and to inspire the next generation of leaders.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, initiatives like this demonstrate the importance of honoring past contributors while fostering the growth and involvement of young individuals in governance.
