Wife of the Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Hajia Adetunji Hashiat Oluwakemi, as part activities marking her birthday celebration which coincided with her husband’s one year in office, has visited FOMWAN Orphanage located behind Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo.


Hadjia Adetunji stated that she chose to visit the orphanage to mark her birthday and her husband one year in office with the believe that there was much reward in comforting the less privileged in our society especially the motherless.
She praised the Federation of Muslim Women Associations in Nigeria FOMWAN, Oyo Zone for the bold step taken in establishing the facility for providing succour to the often neglected, innocent children in our society with the aim of making them a responsible citizen in future. She expressed her joy with the kind of treatment extended to these kids and prayed that Almighty Allah will reward them accordingly.

In her remarks, Alhaja Adewole Falilat, FOMWAN Elder and ExOfficio, appreciated the good gesture of Hadjia Adetunji saying it’s a clear departure from the popular way by which many people celebrate their special days. According to her, “visiting the motherless with food items and other consumables remain the best way and most pleasing to Allah because He commanded it. She intimated the First Lady, Hadjia Adetunji, that the orphanage is been run by donations and gifts from people and that the building used for the orphanage was donated to FOMWAN, Oyo Zone, by a public-spirited individual.



Special prayers were offered for the celebrant by Alhaja Sadiat Ladigbolu, Amirah FOMWAN, Oyo East, wishing her long life in prosperity and for the success of her husband’s administration.
Items donated by the First Lady include : Rice, Biscuits, Spaghetti, Toothpaste and Toothbrush,Toilet soap, Detergent, Diapers and other household items.


Among the entourage of the First Lady were Mrs Gbadamosi Seidat Olayemi, Director of Education and Social Services; Mrs Felicia Oyekola, Head, Community Development; Mrs Tijani Folasade and Mrs Asiru Sade both of Office of the First Lady and Bayo Ogunwale, Head, Information Unit.
