Hon. Kazim Adeniyi Adeyinka Bibire, a former Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters and House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on the sixth anniversary of his administration.

Describing Makinde as a man of deep vision and rare capacity, Bibire emphasized that the governor’s six years in office feel more like sixty years of people-centered, impactful, and revolutionary leadership, thanks to the scale and speed of his developmental achievements across the state.

In a statement made available to the media on Thursday , Bibire said:

“Today, I join the good people of Oyo State and well-meaning Nigerians to celebrate His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, DSc., on the occasion of his sixth year in office as the Governor of Oyo State.

“Governor Makinde’s six years feel like sixty years of visible, result-driven, and people-focused governance.

It’s hard to believe it’s just six years when we reflect on the depth of transformation this state has witnessed under his stewardship.”

Bibire, a grassroots mobilizer and key loyalist of Governor Makinde, lauded the governor’s strides across various sectors, listing landmark achievements in healthcare, education, infrastructure, agribusiness, and workers’ welfare as testaments to his exceptional governance model.

Bibire highlighted the completion and renovation of 264 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) out of the 351 targeted across the state, the recruitment of qualified health workers, and the provision of modern medical equipment.

“Under Governor Makinde’s leadership, Oyo State has witnessed a revolution in the health sector, including the commissioning of an oxygen plant at Ring Road State Hospital and another in Saki,” he said.

Bibire praised the state’s takeover of full ownership of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), conversion of the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education into a University of Education, and the recruitment of over 15,000 teaching and non-teaching staff.

“These moves are reshaping the future of education in Oyo. The establishment of more model schools with modern ICT labs is a visionary step toward digital education,” he noted.

He emphasized the training of over 3,300 youths in agribusiness, with over 2,000 trained at the Oyo Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) in Fasola and nearly 1,000 youth corps members under the Youth Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness Project (YEAP).

“This has created a new generation of agropreneurs and is laying the foundation for food security and youth employment,” Bibire said.

Bibire commended the timely payment of salaries on the 25th of every month, 13th-month bonuses, ₦25,000 wage awards for workers and ₦15,000 for pensioners for six months, and an increased monthly gratuity payment from ₦100 million to ₦500 million.

He noted that over ₦19.5 billion in gratuities have been cleared under Makinde’s administration.

Bibire pointed to massive investments in roads, including the Moniya-Iseyin Road, Oyo-Iseyin Road, Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomoso Road, Beere-Yemetu-Awolowo-Jembewon Road, and Orogun-Oje-Beere Road, as well as the dualization of Ojoo–UI–Sango–Bodija–Secretariat Road and the Oke Adu–Ode Aje–Agodi Gate Road.

“These are not just roads; they are lifelines connecting people, markets, and opportunities,” he said.

According to Bibire, the state’s economy grew from ₦2.75 trillion in 2019 to ₦4.05 trillion in 2022, with over ₦35 billion in investment inflows and an increase in IGR from ₦2.4 billion to over ₦3.8 billion monthly.

“Governor Makinde has made Oyo an investor-friendly state with clear fiscal discipline,” he said.

Bibire applauded the upgrade of the Amotekun Corps, the establishment of the 615 emergency number, and the recent launch of the Seyi Makinde Security Response Center at the Oyo State Secretariat.

“Security in Oyo State is more coordinated, responsive, and effective under this administration,” he noted.

The commissioning of an 11MW hybrid power plant to supply government facilities and the upgrade of Ibadan Airport to international status further show Makinde’s futuristic governance, according to Bibire.

He also pointed to the remodeling and equipping of General Gas Flyover and Bus Terminals at Iwo Road, Ojoo, and Challenge, alongside sustainable mass transit solutions like the proposed CNG buses to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

“Governor Makinde’s administration has been marked by stability, transparency, inclusiveness, and performance,” Bibire said.

“He is a generational thinker who has redefined leadership in Nigeria.

His six years have surpassed what some achieve in sixty. History will remember this era as the turning point for Oyo State.”

Bibire concluded by praying for continued wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for Governor Makinde as he continues his journey of transformative leadership.
