Oyo: Fire Ravages Residential Building In Ibadan

Properties Worth Millions of naira have been saved by the Oyo State Fire Services Agency due to a fire incident that Ravages a residential building in Ring Road, Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

Heritage Echo correspondents gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday, 27th May 2025. No casualty was recorded, while the properties worth millions were saved by the fire agency.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Services Agency Reform/Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident.

Hon. Akinwande, in a statement released and made available to Heritage Echo News on Wednesday, said; “the distressed call was reported at exactly 22:17hrs on Monday 27th May 2025 through telephoning and Mr. Ṣẹgun Fayinka to house on fire at Supreme Apartment No 17 Alhaji Aminu Street behind Kakanfo Inn Off Ring Road, Ibadan.

“The Agency’s personnel led by ACFS Adedeji (Mrs) promptly deployed to the place of the incident. On arrival, it was an apartment in a two(2) stories commercial building of six(6) apartments on fire.

“We swiftly swung into action and curtailed the fire from spreading to the next apartment and other nearby properties.

The fire was a result of overheating of the Air Conditioning system installed in the room.

The Special Adviser on Fire Services Agency Reform/ Chairman, Hon. Akinwande, advised the public to understand that fire is our friend. Once we handle it with care and use all the electrical appliances as recommended by the manufacturers. Definitely, fire will not occur. he stated.
