Oyo State Fire Service Agency attended a trailer tanker accident carrying 45,000 capacity liters of Kerosene as it lost control in the Ogbomoso axis of the State.

Our correspondence gathered the incident occurred on Friday at the Taki Roundabout area, Ogbomoso.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Services Reforms and Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service Agency, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, confirmed the incident.

Hon. Akinwande, in a statement released and made available to Heritage Echo News on Saturday, said, “Friday 16th May 2025 at exactly 12;40hrs, the emergency was reported by running caller and Alhaji Jimoh Aderemi (Park Manager Chairman, Ogbomosho) to a trailer tanker accident at Taki roundabout area, Ogbomosho. By 12:42hrs, fire Tanker, 5 personnel led by Acfs Odewabi in charge left for the scene.



“On getting to the scene of the incident, we met a trailer tanker regd no KMC 127 ZQ Kano with the 45,000 capacity liters of kerosene, lost control and fell on an open road.
“We promptly swung into action by carpeting the areas with chemical foam compound and saving properties worth millions of naira.

No casualty was recorded and we were able to prevent it from catching fire, he said.
However, Mr. Seyi Awoyemi, Zonal Commander of Ogbomoso Fire Service, was in attendance. Others are; a team of police led by DSP Sulaiman Lazizi and A team of FRSC led by Mr.Solomon Aderiola, who provide security and traffic cover, respectively.
