The Oyo State Fire Service Agency, under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, on Thursday, responded to a distress call regarding a private residence engulfed by fire in the Ogbomoso axis of the State.


According to the information gathered by our correspondence, the incident occurred at Ile-Labe Abepe Area, Ogbomoso. While the details of the specific incident are limited, the fire service agency has a history of prompt response to fire outbreaks in Pacesetter State.
Confirming the development in a statement made available to Heritage Echo Correspondence, the Chairman of the Agency, Hon. Moroof Akinwande stated that

“Today, Thursday, 15th May 2025, at exactly 14:10hrs, the emergency was reported by a distress call from Alhaja Sabiatu to a house on fire at the above address.




“By 14:11hrs, the fire Tanker and 5 personnel, Acfs Odewabi in charge, left for the screen. On getting to the screen of the incident, we met an eight-room private residential building that had already been engulfed by fire.
The fire incident was a result of cooking gas unattended and igniting nearby combustibles.

We promptly swung into action, and within a few minutes, we were able to catch the fire. He stated.
No lives were lost, and properties worth millions of naira were saved by the fire service agency.

Hon. Akinwande, however, urged the members of the public to always pay utmost attention to domestic gas and other related cooking materials in their various homes.
Also, he enjoined all citizens to have portable fire-fighting extinguishers in their homes as specified by the professionals.
