Local Government Chairmen across Oyo State have pledged their unwavering support for the 2025 edition of the Omituntun Free Health Mission, an initiative spearheaded by Governor Seyi Makinde to provide accessible healthcare services to residents across the state.
Speaking at the official flag-off ceremony held on Tuesday at the Ibadan North East Local Government Secretariat, Hon. Sakiru Sanda, Chairman of the Forum of LG Chairmen, lauded the initiative as a testament to the governor’s dedication to public health. He reaffirmed the readiness of all 33 LGAs to partner with the state government to ensure the programme’s success at the grassroots level.
“The Free Health Mission is scheduled to run for six weeks and will involve a team of highly skilled medical professionals delivering essential healthcare services directly to our communities,” Sanda stated, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to quality healthcare delivery.

The Omituntun Free Health Mission, first launched in 2019, provides free medical consultations, treatments, minor surgeries, eye care, and the distribution of drugs and medical supplies, particularly targeting underserved populations.

With the 2025 edition already underway, the initiative is projected to reach thousands of beneficiaries, furthering the state government’s broader goal of enhancing access to healthcare and reducing disease burden across Oyo State.
