All is now set for a historic, epoch making occasion of Yoruba Culture and traditions, as Sons and daughters of Òyó troop out in numbers to witness the coronation of the 46th Alaafin of Oyo land, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I, today.

A historic occasion like the coronation ceremony of the Alaafin of Oyo comes once or twice in a lifetime and makes an indelible memory that lasts forever.
As Oyo deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, deputy Governor of Osun State, Oluwo of Iwo land, Aseyin of Iseyin, Olowo, all traditional rulers in Oke-Ogun, Oba Yoruba Brazil and others arrive early to the epoch-making events.

Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade Iku Baba Yeye was born 47years ago to a prominent Royal family of Owoade-Agunloye in Oyo town the new Alaafin of Oyo, is one of the sons of Aremo Aderounmu Iyanda Owoade Agure compound, in the ancient Oyo town.

At Olivet Baptist Heights School, the main venue of the ceremony, special canopies for the guests are being erected while security arrangements are in top gear.

All chairs, tables, and tents are well-designed, and VVIP, VIP, and General spaces are well-arranged for the guests.
Apart from the popular Akesan market, which will be under lock and key for the event, all other markets in and around the town will also be shut.

One particular matter about Oba Owoade was the fact that he didn’t struggle for the throne; he had the throne thrust upon Philipps on a platter of gold, courtesy of the IFA divination that singled him out with honor and excellence. An indication that the spiritual still rules over the physical.

The IFA divination was conducted by the Awise of Yorubaland and former Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Professor Wande Abimbola who is trusted by a broad range of Nigerians for his honesty and integrity.

However, our personal investigation reveals that the new monarch will use his great influence to bring industrialists here to establish both medium and large-scale agro-based and manufacturing industries that will provide employment to a large number of Youths.

Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, Iku Baba Yeye will use his position to ensure peace, comfort, art, and progress for his people as displayed in his softening the traditional curfew that usually accompanies enthronement ceremonies during the Ipebi period by reducing the hours from 8pm to 6am to 10pm to 4:30ain orderer to make Ramadan and Lent comfortable for Muslims and Christians respectively.
