Ramadan 1446AH: Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem’s Initiative Provides Essential Support to Thousands in Oyo State

The Gubernatorial aspirant in the 2027 general election in Oyo State, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), has demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of pacesetter citizens through free Ramadan package gifts to the residents.

In a statement released and made available to Heritage Echo correspondence, the gubernatorial aspirant spread love and generosity to thousands of residents in commemoration of 1446AH.

The statement read in parts;

We Have Done A Bit More for Our People This Ramadan. As Ramadan 1446H wraps its gentle arms around us, I find myself reflecting on the beauty of this season— a time when the soul gets a little spring cleaning, and the heart, well, it gets a chance to show off its best moves.

Having already sent my warmest greetings to the good people of Oyo State at the start of this blessed month, I thought it only fair to share a little update on how we’ve been dancing through these sacred days together. This isn’t just a season of fasting; it’s a season of feasting on kindness, unity, and the joy of lifting each other up – and I’ve been thrilled and immensely grateful to play a small part in that journey.

Let’s imagine it together: across various corners of Oyo State, the aroma of steaming Iftar meals has been wafting through the air; it has indeed been bringing smiles to faces that deserve every bit of that warmth. I couldn’t resist rolling up my sleeves – figuratively, of course, because who has time to iron during Ramadan? – to ensure that thousands of our brothers and sisters had something delicious to break their fast with.

From hearty plates of jollof rice to the kind of soups that make you whisper “Alhamdulillah” a little louder, my team of volunteers and I, have made sure that no one’s stomach was left out of the celebration. It’s not just food for the body; it’s a little love letter to the spirit, delivered one spoonful at a time.

But why stop at Iftar? We decided to sprinkle a bit more cheer by handing out raw food supplies – Semovita, salt, rice, beans, groundnut oil, and all the good stuff that turns a kitchen into a home. And because Ramadan isn’t shy about teaching us generosity, we’ve slipped some cash into the hands of those who needed it most, letting them decide what their hearts desired. Thousands of families felt that touch of relief, and I’ll confess, there’s nothing quite like the glow of knowing you’ve helped someone breathe a little easier. It’s the kind of glow that even the brightest crescent moon would envy, a quiet nod to the strength of a community that thrives when we share.

Then comes the jewel of the month, the most anticipated Lailatul-Qadr – through the Office of the 1st Fahkar Soliheen of Oyo State in Conjunction with Wabillahi Taofeeq Islamic Mission Worldwide, on Friday 28th March 2025 from 11pm till dawn at Wabillahi Taofeeq Worldwide Central Masjid, Ibadan, Nigeria, we’re rolling out the welcome mat for everyone to join us in prayer for Lailatul-Qadr prayers, and because a night this sacred deserves a full heart, for supplications for our dear Oyo state and ourselves, and with a full stomach, there’ll be free hour for all who attend. It’ll be a gathering under the stars, fueled by warm meals and warmer company, as we seek Allah’s blessings that ripple far beyond the dawn. It’s a small way to honor a night that’s bigger than us all, and I can’t wait to see our people across Oyo State light up with that collective spirit.

Dear brothers and sisters, Ramadan 1446H has been a gentle teacher who reminds us that the truest fast is one that feeds others, too. Judging from the Iftar tables to the raw food bundles, from the cash in hand to the soccur under the night sky, these days have painted a picture of what happens when we lean into each other.

Eid is approaching, and I’m left with a heart full of gratitude for a people who make every effort worthwhile – a people whose faith and resilience could outshine the deepest fears we may all carry.

I wish everyone the spirit to carry all our acts of worship forward, step by step, like the soft echo of footsteps when we head to taraweeh, and to guide us toward something beautiful, now and after Ramadan.
