The Ido Legislative Arm of the Ido Local Government area of Oyo State, under the leadership of Hon. Adedeji Adebowale, has undergone a significant leadership reshuffle, with the dissolution of the Deputy Leader and Majority Leader positions.
The resolution was made today at the plenary session of the lawmakers. According to the information gathered by our correspondence, the move was a result of the involvement of Hon Oyepeju Kazeem and the former deputy leader, who led thugs to invade the local government and Councilor’s office, which paved the way for the appointment of a new officer, marking a fresh chapter in the arm’s leadership.

According to sources, the dissolution of the Deputy Leader and Majority Leader positions was necessitated by the need for a more effective and efficient leadership structure.

The resolution of the House read as follows;

We humbly wish to refer to the above subject matter and to inform you that during The Legislative Council meeting of Ido Local Government held today 4th March 2025 in the Local Government Legislative building the House unanimously Resolved that:
i. The Deputy Leader of the House, Hon. Oyepeju Kazeem, will be replaced by Hon. Omotosho Rafiu.
ii. The Majority Leader, Hon. Tijani Jamiu, be replaced with Hon. Oyewumi K. Akintayo.
The resolution was unanimously signed by
Hon. Adebowale Adedeji, Leader of the House, Hon. Omotosho Rafiu, Deputy Leader, Hon. Oyewumi K. Akintayo. Majority Leader, Hon. Oluwwale Oluwagbemiga Member Ward 02, Hon. Oni Busayo Jonathan Member Ward 01, Hon. Olabamiji Lukman Member Ward 06 and Hon. Oladokun Wasiu Member Ward 05 respectively.
The new officers, whose appointment has been widely welcomed, is expected to bring a fresh perspective and approach to the leadership of the Ido Legislative Arm.
