A devastating fire engulfed the production section of YOCHONG Manufacturing company located along the bustling Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ibadan, the State Capital

The fire incident was reported in the early hours of Sunday, 26th January 2025, through a GSM call and confirmed by Lieutenant Samuel Akpakpan. Sending flames soaring through the facility while the inferno was contained, preventing a potentially catastrophic disaster.

According to the statement released and made available to Heritage Echo correspondence by Oyo State Fire Service Agency, the fire incident was a result of sparks from the running machine, ignited combustibles, and set the production section of the company ablaze.

However, a crew of fire personnel led by ACFS Oyedeji was promptly deployed to the scene of the incident. On arrival, it was a production unit of the manufacturing company engulfed by inferno.

The team swiftly swung into action and restricted the fire from affecting other units of the company. It took the agency personnel several hours before the fire was completely extinguished due to the burning materials (chemicals and items used for making mattresses, foot mats, etc.) involved in the fire incident.
However, no casualty was recorded, properties worth millions of naira were ravaged by the info, and the other sections of the company and their products were saved by the Agency’s personnel.

YOCHONG Manufacturing company director and resident of the area applauded the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE, DSC, DSSRs, for the prompt response of the State fire Service that prevented the company from being razed down by the inferno, as well as ensuring the safety of the life and properties.
