A devastating fire incident was averted by the Oyo State Fire Service in Ogbomoso and Oyo township Zonal Office communities under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande.
The agency’s professionalism and expertise ensured that the fire was curtailed and extinguished quickly, preventing any loss of life or major damage to properties.

According to the statement made available to our correspondence, the fire service arrived at the scene in Oritamerin Ogbomoso this morning and St. Anthony of Padua Aw, Oyo township, on Sunday, in record time, equipped with State-of-the-art firefighting equipment.


The cause of the fire incident was an upsurge of electricity in the Oritamerin area of Ogbomoso. No life was lost, but property millions were destroyed, and the agency’s personnel saved all surrounding buildings and properties worth billions of naira.


However, a crew of personnel led by ACFS Tijani, on Sunday, swung into action and curtailed a story residential building against devasting at St. Anthony of Padua, Awe, Oyo township.
Tijani reiterated that the fire was extinguished together with the Federal fire service counterpart, Oyo command.
According to him, “no casualty was recorded, and the room was severely damaged by fire, and the whole building was protected against the fire.”.
The Oyo Fire Service, under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, has been commended for their excellent response to the fire incident; their dedication to serving the people of Oyo State and ensuring their safety is truly commendable.
