The Executive Chairman of Atiba local government, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, has congratulated the newly appointed Alaafin-designate, Prince Akeem Abimbola Owoade.
This follows the approval by the Governor of Oyo State on Friday, through the office of the commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Matters. However, Prince Owoade’s appointment follows thorough consultations and divinations by the traditional Kingmakers, Oyomesi.
In his congratulatory message, Hon. Adetunji praised Prince Akeem Owoade’s impressive track record, illustrious lineage, and extensive experience, which he noted perfectly aligned with his visionary plans for the revered Alaafin stool.
The Alaafin-elect wealth of experience marks the beginning of a new era for the Oyo Kingdom, his Philanthropist leadership is expected to bring peace, prosperity, and unity to the historical empire.
He commended the Oyo State Government for making a strategic and commendable choice in approving Prince Akeem Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo, where he described the selection as historic.
As the new Alaafin designate, Prince Owoade is poised to build on the foundations laid by his predecessors and take the kingdom to even greater heights, citing his vast experience and knowledge of the kingdom’s traditions and customs.
The council Mayor urged all sons and daughters of the Oyo empire to rally around the Alaafin-designate towards championing the course of progress and development.
However, Wabkem’s felicitation is a significant gesture, as it demonstrates the local government’s support for the new monarch. Prince Owoade is expected to bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to the throne, building on the legacy of his predecessors and taking the Royal Council to greater heights.
“I do not doubt that Prince Owoade will make an excellent Alaafin, I wish him all the best in his new role and assure him of the support and cooperation of the Atiba Local Government.” He said.
Wabkem now prayed for a successful reign for the king.
