This Christmas, Indigenes and residents of Lagelu have been reminded of the timeless values that binds them as a community, thanks to a heartfelt message from the Executive Chairman of the local government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen.

In his Christmas address, Hon. Kamorudeen emphasized the spirit of love, compassion, and unity that defines the people of Lagelu. “As we gather in the spirit of joy and togetherness this Christmas, I am reminded of the values that make our community strong: love, compassion, and the hope for a brighter tomorrow,” he said.

The Executive Chairman encouraged residents to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas—one of giving, sharing, and uplifting each other. “This season, let us take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas—one of giving, sharing, and uplifting one another,” he stated. Hon. Kamorudeen also reminded citizens to be mindful of those who may not have the same comforts during the holidays, urging them to extend generosity not only through material gifts but also through time, attention, and acts of kindness.

“Christmas is a time for generosity—not just in material gifts, but in our time, attention, and love. Reach out to someone in need, lend an ear, or share a meal,” he added.

This call for compassion serves as a reminder of the power of community and collective action, especially during a time when many are facing hardship.

The message also highlighted the achievements the community has made in the past year. Hon. Kamorudeen noted the progress in local initiatives, support for local growth and development. “From strengthening our local initiatives to supporting growth and development of our local government, your hard work and perseverance have paved the way for a brighter future,” he appraised.

As 2024 comes to a close, the Executive Chairman expressed hope for a prosperous new year, filled with continued unity and progress for Lagelu. “Together, we can continue to build on this foundation, ensuring that the spirit of Christmas carries on throughout the year,” he said.

Hon. Kamorudeen closed his message with warm wishes for all indigenes and residents: “From my family to yours, I wish you a Merry Christmas filled with love, peace, and joy. May the new year bring hope, prosperity, and unity to all corners of Lagelu.”
