The Oyo State Forum of Supervisory Councilors has organized a special prayer session in commemoration of the birthday celebration of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE.
The prayer session was held at the renowned Adógba Central mosque, Iwo Road, Ibadan, led by the mosque’s Chief Imam, Ustadh Abdul-Kabir Hamzah, forum Chairman Hon. Alarape Kabiru Imam, the Chairman of Oyo State local government Pension Board, Hon. Ademola Ige, as well as all Supervisory Councilors across 33 local government areas of the State.
It would be recalled that the Governor on Friday evening issued a press statement where he declared that his birthday celebration was canceled to honor the departed souls of the Basorun Islamic High School Children Funfair party.
Ustadh Abdul-Kabir Hamzah of Adógba Central mosque read several Qur’an verses praying for the longevity of life, continued good health, Wisdom, and strength to His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde, to continue steering the ship of the state to greater heights.
He described Governor Makinde as a promised keeper, a trustworthy fellow stressing that Muslim ummah and Adógba congregate will never forget his impact on rebuilding the mosque edifice, the first of its kind in the capital State.
Also, the Chairman of Oyo State Local Government Pension Board, Hon. Ademola Ige, stated that Governor Makinde had demonstrated exemplary leadership in Oyo State while reiterating that His Excellency deserved the special prayer organized by the forum of Supervisory Councilors across the 33 local government areas.
He, however, expressed optimism that with the right support, the builder of modern Oyo State is well equipped to lead the country if given the chance.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Alarape Kabiru Imam, described Governor Makinde as a divine gift to the people of Oyo State, saying his leadership has brought unprecedented development to the state.
“We pray for his strong health, protection against evil acts, and help him to achieve his vision for our dear State. May this prayer be the source of strength, courage, and Wisdom” he said.
The Chairman of Oyo State Pension Board, Hon Ademola Ige, who represented the governor and was visibly elated by the Special Prayer gesture, thanked the Supervisory councilors for their thoughtfulness and kindness while praying for the progress and prosperity of the State, promising to continue working tirelessly for the progress and prosperity of the state.
