The Oyo State Pioneer Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barrister Temilolu ‘Seun Ashamu recently attended a two-day capacity building organized by the Commissioners of Power and Energy in Nigeria.

The event was held on 25th-26th November 2024 in Lagos.


With the knowledge and expertise gained from the capacity-building event, stakeholders are optimistic about the future of Nigeria’s Power Sector and the potential for transformation.

According to the statement on the commissioner’s social media handles, the Commissioners of Power and Energy in Nigeria convened a two-day meeting from 25th -26th November 2024 in Lagos.



The meeting was aimed at strengthening collaboration, capacity building, and institutionalizing a peer review mechanism amongst States for actualizing sub-national electricity markets and achieving universal access to electricity at the sub-national level.

Key stakeholders in the power sector value chain were present and able to contribute to the rich discourse including the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, the Special Adviser on Energy to the President, the Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the ag. Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, Meter Asset Providers, Distribution Companies and Generation Companies.
