In a move that exemplified leadership and commitment to community welfare, Chairman Mudashiru Kamorudeen of Lagelu local government met with key stakeholders in the Ajara community to address concerns over an electricity transformer that was accidentally damaged during construction work along Olohunda-Aba road.

The meeting, held at the community’s high school, brought together residents, community leaders, and the local government officials to discuss the impact of the disruption on the area’s power supply. The damage had left many residents without electricity for several days, affecting homes, businesses, and essential services.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Kamorudeen expressed empathy for the inconvenience caused, acknowledging the critical role that electricity plays in daily life. He assured the gathered stakeholders that the local government would take immediate action to replace the damaged transformer with a new one. “I understand the hardship this has caused, and I want you to know that your concerns have been heard. We are committed to ensuring that the situation is resolved swiftly,” said Kamorudeen.

He went on to outline the steps that would be taken to facilitate the transformer’s replacement. “The government of Lagelu will see to it that a new transformer is installed in the Ajara community, and we are working to ensure that this happens without unnecessary delays,” he added.

The promise by the chairman was met with applause from the community members, who expressed relief at the assurance of restored power.

The engagement between Chairman Kamorudeen and the Ajara community highlights a model of responsible governance, where dialogue and prompt action are prioritized to solve challenges. As construction projects continue in the area, Kamorudeen emphasized the importance of coordination between development projects and community needs, ensuring that such accidents do not disrupt daily life in the future.
