Residents Hail Governor Makinde’s Unwavering Commitment to Infrastructure Development

Residents of Ibadan have expressed profound gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for the ongoing road rehabilitation projects across the city.

The governor’s infrastructure development initiatives have brought significant relief to commuters and residents, improving the overall quality of life in Ibadan.

The road rehabilitation projects, aimed at enhancing connectivity and facilitating economic growth, have been widely praised by the community. Residents commend Governor Makinde’s commitment to transforming Ibadan’s infrastructure, citing improved road safety, reduced travel times, and increased economic opportunities.

37 km Beere-Olorunsogo Amuloko-Akanran- Dagbolu Road reconstruction initiative. The Oyo State Government has also commenced reconstruction of the 15.53 km UI-Bodija Market-Secretariat-Total Garden-Beere Roundabout Road and the 10.8 km Bus Stop Gate-Oje-Beere-Oja Oba-Molete Under Bridge Road.

Additionally, the government has completed several other road projects, including the 8.5 km Mile 110-Ring Road Mobil-Challenge Car Park Road, the 3.85 km Iyaganku-Seventh Day-Oke Bola Junction and Olubadan Stadium Junction-Vale College-NUJ Press Centre Junction, the 5.48 km General Gas Junction-Kolapo Ishola GRA-Iyana Church, the 11.74 km Queen Cinema Dugbe-Mokola Sango-Trans Amusement Park Junction, and the 9.3 km Molete Under Bridge-Oke Ado-Oke Bola-Queen Cinema Dugbe Road.

Governor Makinde’s administration has also announced a comprehensive road rehabilitation project, focusing on Old Bodija and New Bodija areas, aimed at enhancing the state’s infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents. The project will cover 4.16km of roads in Old Bodija, including Adeyi Avenue, Awosika, Obasanmi Olakanpo Street, The Beckley, Oranmiyan, Dejo Oyelese, Canon Odusanya Close, Aderinola Street, Akinlabi Sanda Close, Obasanmi Lakanoko Close, and Ekiti/Osun Street.

Additionally, 2.68km of roads will be improved in New Bodija, specifically Ibrahim Taiwo Akinsenwa area, Moremi Sariyin Adebisi, Ladoke Akintola, Okunola Abass, and Ogunsola streets. Other projects include the asphaltic improvement of the dualized Molete under bridge to Challenge junction (1.7km), Felele Idi-obi junction to Splash FM road to Onigari-Felele Express road (3.5km), rehabilitation of road network, construction of parking lots, and repair of Freedom Flyover Bridge within and around Oyo state Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

All these projects are expected to be completed within eight months, demonstrating Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to improving infrastructure in Oyo State. This initiative is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to construct over 335km of roads, boosting economic growth and enhancing the overall well-being of residents.

Residents have expressed excitement and gratitude for the projects, citing improved road safety, reduced travel times, and increased economic opportunities. “We’re thrilled to see our governor taking bold steps to address our infrastructure challenges,” said Mrs. Asiata Balogun, a trader within Dugbe Market. “This will make life easier for us and attract more businesses to our area.”

Alhaji Gafar Ajiboye, a resident of Ona Ara Local Government, has expressed gratitude for Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts in road rehabilitation, acknowledging the positive impact it has on the community. Similarly, Pastor Kunmi Adesida, a resident of Bodija community, commended the governor’s proactive approach to infrastructure development.

It’s clear that Governor Makinde’s road rehabilitation projects have resonated with the people of Oyo State. His administration has made significant strides in improving the state’s infrastructure, with over 335 kilometers of roads constructed across all zones. This includes the rehabilitation of feeder roads in Ibadan, such as the 38.48 kilometers commissioned in July 2024

Governor Makinde’s administration remains dedicated to delivering impactful projects that benefit the people of Oyo State. The ongoing road rehabilitation efforts demonstrate his unwavering commitment to enhancing the state’s infrastructure and promoting economic development.

The Oyo State Government has assured that the rehabilitation process will extend to other zones, including Oyo, Ogbomosho, and others; Governor Makinde reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering impactful projects, stating, “We will continue to prioritize infrastructure development, ensuring Oyo State remains a hub for economic growth and prosperity.”
