In a bid to promote development in Ojongbodu’s Low-cost Community on productive primary healthcare, the Executive Chairman of Oyo West, Hon. Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi, and other stakeholders recently engaged with residents, with a focus on strengthening relationships and sought the progress of the community.
The meeting which was held at the community center on Wednesday, tagged Peace and Reconciliation, aimed to seek input from residents on how to improve the area’s infrastructure, healthcare, and most importantly the repairing of the community’s healthcare malfunctioning generator.



In his address at the occasion, the Council Boss, Hon. Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi, explained the decision taken to evacuate the industrial generator from the community’s primary healthcare to the council secretariat, taken to avoid further stealing, properly refurbish, and provide safety.
“We embark on this decision for optimal productive and effective service delivery for adequate power of the primary Healthcare center once the rehabilitation process of the primary healthcare center is completed”.


“As a grassroots administrator, we’ll not relent on our commitments and determination to improve the socio-economic development of the Model Council as against unfolded article to score cheap political points,” Prince Olukitibi assured.
Also speaking, the state lawmaker representing Oyo East/Oyo West constituency, Hon. Olorunpoto Cephas Rahaman, proposed mobilizing resources from within the community to renovate the dilapidated primary healthcare center.

The Oyo lawmaker further emphasized his commitment to supporting the renovation and reactivation of the important facility for public usage.
The Divisional Police Officer, Mr. Michael Akano Adeolu, addressed the community on issues of safety and security, reassuring them of efforts to protect lives and properties.
“We are always open to engaging with communities and pursuing collaborative efforts that will uplift our standard of living”, he said.

Equally, Delivering his vote of thanks, the community Chairman, Alhaji Chief Salam R.Y, eulogized the Council Mayor for his prompt response aimed at protecting the government properties against stealing by men of the underworld; he further expressed gratitude for the council’s efforts and provided valuable feedback on the rehabilitation process.
“Our focus of this meeting is to strengthen relationships and work together for the progress of the community, ensuring the healthcare center is fully functional and mobilizing the workforce to the facility” Chief Salam stated.

He emphasized the need for more security, Job creation, and access to basic amenities.
The engagement marked a significant step towards fostering collaboration between the council, stakeholders, and the community; by working together, they aim to transform Ojongbodu into a thriving and prosperous area for all residents.
