Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem has commenced the flag-off distribution of the federal government palliative grains; maize and Garri to the vulnerable residents of the Royal Council, warning against the selling of the assorted materials and ensuring the palliatives delivered to the intended people.

These palliatives aim to cushion the effects of economic hardship and fuel subsidy removal on vulnerable residents of the Royal Council including people living with disabilities, veterans, and low-income households.

At the flag-off distribution on Wednesday in Offa-meta, the headquarters of Atiba local government, the council Mayor, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem disclosed that 398 bags of Maize and 80 bags of Garri will be distributed to the vulnerable households in the royal council.

Speaking further on behalf of the palliative committee, the council Boss assured the community development association, public school boarding head, Yoruba concern elders forum, federation of informal workers, Red Cross, National Council of Women, Youths representative, associations, people living with disabilities, religious groups, Oyo Alaafin market women, Legion, Atiba Ward 1-10 residents, traders association, and several stakeholders would benefits from the palliatives, noting that the initiative isn’t politicized it’s meant for the generality of the people of the Royal council regardless of their political affiliation, as the distribution is equally meant to reduced hunger, persistent inflation, and food scarcity.

He stated that palliative a was part of the delivery taken from the State government through the federal government to ease the grassroots people’s suffering.

“We’re very diligent in making the selection of the vulnerable based on the template made available to the council from the state government, through the office of the Deputy Governor, Barrister Adebayo Lawal”. he said.

Hon. Adetunji warned the residents to desist from selling the assorted food materials, it aims to address the food crisis and provide relief while assuring that the distribution cuts across all the ten Wards in the council area.

The Council Boss commended the local palliative distribution committee for their activeness, and a strong commitment to ensure the hitch-free exercise of palliative delivery to the vulnerable at the Royal Council.

He urged the beneficiaries to remain law abiding and not to cause disruptions during and after the distribution process.

Also, the LEMA officer, Alhaja Gbadamosi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the federal government and the state government for the hitch-free allocation of the assorted materials to the local government in ensuring the palliative delivered to the vulnerable at the grassroots level.

She however introduced members of the palliative distribution committee to the residents of Atiba local government and urged beneficiaries to adhere strictly to the distribution procedure.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries and Community Development Association in Atiba, Alhaji Muritala Oyekan lauded the council Boss Hon Adetunji Wabkem, and the palliative committee for transparency in the distribution of the assorted materials.

He urged the CDAs to make sure the materials given to them were evenly distributed across the communities in Atiba local government. and as well received by the vulnerable to reduce hunger, persistent inflation, and food crises.

Present at the gathering were; Sooro Political Head, Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide, the Head of local government administration, Mr. Peter Oladeji, a representative of the Nigerian Police Force, NSCDC, Amotekun Corps, Religious group, community development association, market leaders and several stakeholders.
