Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, produced a superlative second half display on Sunday, to hammer Abia Warriors of Umuahia 4-0, in a NPFL Matchday 34 fixture decided at the Lekan Salami Stadium.

Playing before their vociferous fans, who trooped out in their large numbers to cheer them to victory, the Oluyole Warriors made known their intention to carry the day, settling down to business right from the blast of the referee’s whistle.

However, poor marksmanship and the agility of Abia Warriors goalkeeper Jonathan Nmecha who made few saves, robbed the Oluyole Warriors of any goal as the first half ended goalless.

The second half was a different ball game as the Ibadan soccer lords continued from where they finished the first half but couldn’t find the breakthrough.

With 18 minutes left on the clock, the unrelenting Stars turned the game around with Alex Aghahowa breaking the deadlock in the 72nd minutes.

That was the begining of the goal rain as skipper Malomo doubled the Stars’ lead in the 81st minutees.

Christian Pyagbara’s 85th minute strike and Adams Mustapha Agba’s stoppage time goal, completed the demolition of the coach Bethel Orji tutored Abia Warriors.

The win takes Shooting Stars’ points haul to 56 from 34 matches, ensuring that the Oluyole Warriors retain their fourth position on the log, with top three finish still within reach.

The coach Gbenga Ogunbote tutored Stars will next Sunday, aim for another win away from home when they tackle Rivers United in a Matchday 35 fixture.

For the second time, midfield maestro, Ayobami Abiodun Junior, emerged the NB. Plc Player of the Match winner.
