….Pledges to meet NANNMS 8 Points Demand

The Oyo State Government has announced that the recruitment of Nurses Midwives,Nurse Educator and others into general hospitals across the state to address the gross shortage of staff to improve health care delivery in the state will commence soon

The Chairman, Oyo State Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi stated this during a closed-door meeting with the leadership of the Association in his office, pledging that the government will work to meet eight points demand of the Association.

He noted the acknowledgment of various letters written by the Association to the Board before his assumption of office, which necessitated the call for his meeting with them.

Dr. Fagbemi on behalf of His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, appreciated the leadership of the Association for their willingness to work with the government to resolve the ongoing strike.

He also commended the critical services being rendered by them to the State, adding that Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration is a listening government that has put all machineries in place to address their agitation long before the commencement of the strike.

The Board Chairman assured the Association to do everything possible to resolve the situation.

He therefore urged the Association to rethink their earlier decision to embark on strike, noting that their services are critical to the State and cannot be toyed with.
