The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has presented a Certificate of Return to Hon. Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi as the winner of the local government elections held in Oyo West Council area, Ojongbodu, Oyo.
The presentation was done today at the headquarters of OYSIEC, where all elected 33 local government chairmen and their running mates received Certificate of Return.
Prince Akeem of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had polled 12,974 votes, for his re-election bid as a second tern Council Chairman in Oyo West local government.
The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had 3,712 votes.
Speaking shortly after the presentation of the certificate, Prince Olukitibi lauded the support of the good people of Ojongbodu toward his re-election bid.
He applauded them for their assurance of his mandate based on monumental infrastructural development at the grassroots level while making a promise that he’ll build on his first-term legacy to provide sustainable development, a replica of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde in Oyo West.
