A member of the House of Representatives, representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency in the National Assembly, Rep. Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, on Sunday, reaffirmed his dedication to serving his constituents better as legislative activities begin again after a few weeks break.
He promised he would continue to work tirelessly to address the needs and concerns of the people without fail, saying nothing or nobody can frustrate him from fulfilling his agenda for the people.
Agboworin, who is also the Chairman of House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, promised that upon the resumption of National Assembly, he would be more purposeful and focused in his legislative duties.
The lawmaker stated this during a meeting with leaders a stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Party excos, ward councillors, various teams and groups within his federal constituency, which held at his Felele residence in Ibadan.
He expressed gratitude to them for their unwavering support and trust, saying he would always work towards justifying the confidence reposed in him as a federal legislator.
“Let me use this opportunity, once again, to appreciate you all for your love for the party and for me. I thank you for your usual dedication and uprightnesss. I know without you, I can’t be holding the office I am currently. You have all made a lot of things possible and I don’t take it for granted.
“So, at this point, let me restate that I would continue to work towards the yearnings of our people and put smile on their faces through empowerment and other related programmes. There is no doubt about that because I am there in Abuja for the people. The people have always stood by me. There is nothing that can stop me from fulfilling the agenda I have for the people, in line with the vision and ideals of my Principal, Governor ‘Seyi Makinde.
“Now, we have resumed after the break of a few weeks and I would be sponsoring valuable bills and motions that will always impact on the economy of our constituency and attract more opportunities for our people,” Agboworin noted.
He acknowledged the challenges faced by the constituents and assured them that, as he has always been doing, he would continue to work diligently to attract developmental projects, empower youth and women, and improve the overall well-being of the people.
“Sincerely, I am humbled by the opportunity to serve my people, and I promise to continue to serve them with all my heart, irrespective of whose ox is gored.
“My agenda in politics is to make the good people of my constituency feel the impact of good governance and effective representation,” the lawmaker explained.
Some of the stakeholders, who spoke in turns, appreciated Agboworin’s commitment thus far, to his constituents, describing him as a dedicated and effective lawmaker.
“We can obviously say that your love for the people has earned you more recognition as a dedicated and effective lawmaker.
“So, we thank you for your dedication and hard work even as we continue to look forward to continued progress, growth and development in pur constituency,” they said.
