The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Oyo West local government chapter, has declared total support for the candidature and re-election bid of the Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi, claiming that his first tenure placed priority on workers’ welfare, most especially, NUT.

The union made the disclosure today, during their official visit to the Chairman’s office, with the presentation of an exemplary leadership award to People’s Choice Council Boss, Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi.
Speaking on behalf of the NUT-Oyo West, Comrade Moustapha stated that being a teacher was a vocation that helps to bring potential to the lives of students/pupils. He lauded the performance of the council Chairman, saying his actions, and plan were well nurtured toward the betterment of the entire zonal NUT.

He further reaffirmed Prince Olukitibi’s determination to take the Union to greater heights, through seminars, workshops, provisions of incentives, and above all procurement of educational materials to ease productive service delivery in the teaching-learning process in the Oyo West Council area.


“Today, we, Oyo West NUT declare our support to your candidature, a man that knows where the shoe pinches, our messiah in Oyo West model council, we’ll vote for all PDP candidates on the 27th of this month, Olukitibi’s grassroots administration is a true reflection of sustainable governance of His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE,” he said.

Comrade Moustapha also used the medium to declare officially that there’s no vacancy in Oyo West Government House, saying all workers, most especially NUT Oyo-West are ready to vote, claiming that voter’s card retains their voices and power, therefore, they can’t be mute in this critical period to re-elect an astute public administrator.
“I, therefore, urge all our members to vote wisely and cast their votes for all PDP candidates, they’re making teachers’ welfare a top priority” he urged
Equally, Comrade Moustapha presented an exemplary leadership award to honor the council Boss in recognition of his immense contributions to grassroots development.

In his Remarks, Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi commended the pragmatic move of the NUT Oyo West zone, noting that he’ll not disappoint them if elected.
He assured them of a harmonious working relationship, with proper reinforcement, motivation and most especially taking their welfare as a top priority.
Prince Olukitibi promised all-round development in the educational sector and made a follow-up on UNESCO standards in grassroots education.
