Akeem Olatunji Officially Receives PDP Flag As Chairmanship Candidate In Oluyole Ahead April Poll

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state has officially presented the party flag to its Chairmanship candidate in Oluyole Local Government, Akeem Olatunji.

The presentation of party flag to Olatunji came ahead of the forthcoming April 27 Local Government election in the state.

While presenting the flag to the PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Engr Akeem Olatunji, and his vice, Hon Adeniyi Akorede, at Idi-Ayunre local government Secretariat of the party yesterday April 15th, the Secretary of the ruling PDP in Oyo state, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke described Akeem Olatunji as a unifier and a great grassroots mobilizer.

Alhaji Adeleke, who described the April 27 local government election as a must win for the PDP called on party faithful and residents in Oluyole to go out en masse and vote for Akeem Olatunji as the party’s chairmanship candidate and all the 10 councislorship candidates.

The Director General of Sarsino 2024 Campaign Council, Architect Salaam Azeez, in his address commended Engr Olatunji for successfully bringing together the three main groups in Oluyole PDP which are Omituntun Solidarity Group, Omituntun Asejere Group and POS group with assurances that they would all be adequately compensated in Olatunji’s government when elected.

Also, the Oyo State PDP Deputy Chairman, Hon James Olukunle, assured the people of Oluyole that Olatunji would replicate the sterling performance of Governor Seyi Makinde in Oluyole LG when elected.

He also promised that the party will ensure that all PDP candidates when elected will continue to serve the interest of all party members and the general public as this will further entrench Oluyole as PDP political stronghold.

In his brief remarks, the less city coordinator of Local Government Election campaign and Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Hon Segun Olayiwola, express satisfaction with the level of preparations for April 27th local governments election and the massive support being enjoy by Engr Akeem Olatunji from all the Baales, the iyalojas and Babalojas, League of Imams and Alfas, Christians Association in Oluyole who all came out at the ceremony to show their solidarity and support.

Hon Segun Olayiwola described Olatunji as an exceptional grassroots political mobilizer with deep understanding of local politics while expressing satisfaction with the huge turnout and public show of support and solidarity by all major political stakeholders in Oluyole.

Meanwhile, defectors led by the former Oluyole Local Government Council Chairman, Hon Kehinde Abore, first PDP Chairman in Oluyole Local Government, Pastor Remi Adedapo former Accord Party House of Assembly candidate in 2011 election and a chieftain of APC, Hon Abdul-Rasak Babalola officially joined the PDP ahead of the coming LG election.

Present at the flag presentation are the Chief Host and Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Hon Mogbonjubola Olawale Jagaban, Oluyole PDP Chairman, Alh Mukaila Adegbola, former two terms House of Representative member, Hon Depo Oyedokun, Hon Olaide Settle, Hon Tunde Ayoade, Architect Salaam Azeez, Hon Fatai Ogunrin, Oluyole House of Assembly Member, Hon Waheed Akintayo, PTS Chairman, Hon Dikko Salami, Hajia Balikis Olatunji.

Others are Baales, Iyaloja and Babaloja, Oluyole CAN Chairman in Oluyole, Apostle Aduragbemi JP, Chief Imam of Oluyole, Alh. Taliat amd others.
