A member of House of Representatives, who represents the Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency, Rep Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, and some other members of the lower chamber, joined the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass PhD, to celebrate this year’s eid-el-filtr with him in his hometown in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Agboworin, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, was equally part of other members, who were specially invited to grace the occasion of the conferment of traditional titles of Turaki on the Speaker’s two sons and a long-standing friend, Aminu Ramalan.
The Speaker, who is also Iyan Zazzau and a kingmaker in the Zazzau Emirate, on Wednesday, performed the ceremony on two of his sons and Mr Ramalan alongside many others in the state.
During the event, the Speaker urged the title holders to be good ambassadors of the Emirate, urging them to work hard towards developing the Emirate and the state as a whole.
Expressing their appreciation shortly after the ceremony, the newly turbaned sons and others jointly expressed gratitude to the speaker for the turbaning, saying it was a morale booster for them.
He beseeched them to do everything humanly possible to safeguard the title and uphold the integrity of the Emirate.
“I have always identified myself with the dreams and aspirations of the Iyan and I will continue to work towards ensuring that he actualizes them.
“This recognition is a call to action for me, and I am ready and willing to give my all for the development of the Emirate,” Mr Ramalan vowed.
Agboworin, who was a guest at the event, appreciated the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Iyan Zazzau for counting him worthy of invitation to the events.
He, however, urged the newly installed Turakis to protect the sanctity and commit themselves to the progress of the Emirate.
