Lagelu PDP chairmanship candidate, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen has congratulated Muslim Umah on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.

His message reads:

Warm greetings to Muslims across and around Lagelu local government area and Oyo State— as we celebrate the completion of Ramadan, a holy month of prayer, fasting, reflection, and good works.

As a religion, Islam has been a source of profound strength and guidance for many— and, proud to say members of the Muslim Lagelu community have made enormous contributions to our life in the local communities.

As we celebrate, I ask that we join together in sharing the wellsprings of our faith with those who are different, to help people understand the values and the humanity that we share in common, and the texture and fabric and fiber and core of the beliefs and practices of Islam.

In honoring the call of the holy prophet Muhammad— for peace and harmony, I ask each and every Muslim brothers and sisters again to rededicate ourselves in the days, weeks, and months after Ramadan- to making sure that others in our communities truly understand and appreciate the faith we embrace, its practices, its beliefs, its precepts and its inclusive humanity…Again, I say to you as we celebrate, in addition to your prayers and work for peace and understanding and reconciliation within various communities, I ask especially for your prayers for our local government- Lagelu, our dear State- Oyo, and our nation- Nigeria.

The holy month of Ramadan has brought a promise of renewal and hope for us. I pray that, as the new moon has risen, we will witness the beginning of a new era of faith, blessings, tolerance and hope in our various local communities.

Eid Mubarak!
