Islamic Organization Confers Akeem Olatunji With Mayegun Of Oluyole Title…

In a recognition of his selflessness towards community development and generosity towards the advancement of Islam, the Association of Alfas, Oluyole local government chapter has conferred Akeem Olatunji, who is the chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the local government in the April 27 Council poll, with the Mayegun of Oluyole title.

Alhaji Qomorudeen Atayese presented the title certificate to Olatunji at a well attended Ramadan Lecture, Turbaning, and Award ceremony held at the Muslim Central Mosque, Muslim, Oluyole local government yesterday, April 3.

Speaking on the theme: “The Role of Government To The Masses and Role of The Masses To Government, the guest lecturer, Sheikh Abdullahi Aponmode, highlighted the importance of collaboration and synergistic cooperation between government and the people.

He equally stressed the need for both government and the masses to work together as one with a common destiny noting that the failure of one could lead to the failure of the other. He however, charged government being the bigger partner in the cooperation as the administrator of public resources to rise up to its responsibility fulfill its primary purpose of existence to the people.

In his acceptance speech, Olatunji expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him, pledging to uphold the principles of justice, equity, and unity associated with the Mayegun title.

He affirmed his dedication to supporting initiatives aimed at empowering the youth, promoting education, and improving healthcare services in Oluyole in line with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde.

The former Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state remarked that the event marked a significant milestone in his community engagements both as a Muslim and as a politician having being unanimously selected by the highly respected Association of Alfas in Oluyole to bear the esteemed title of Mayegun.

The Mayegun, a revered position in Islamic title, is bestowed upon individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, integrity, and dedication to the welfare of the people, community development, and support towards the advancement of Islam, westernmirror.com.ng has gathered.

Speaking at the ceremony, several Islamic scholars at the event extolled Olatunji’s contributions to the progress of Islam as well as his dedication to selfless service at personal costs in Oluyole.

They emphasized the importance of upholding Islamic principles, values and promoting unity among the people, while praising Olatunji for his exemplary service and unwavering commitment to the betterment of Oluyole.

Meanwhile, Akeem Olatunji has expressed his appreciation to Alhaji Abdul-Mumini Oyeniyi who donated a Sienna campaign bus and campaign materials including billboards towards his electoral campaign ahead of the April 27 Local Government election.

He equally thanked the Honorable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola over his selfless financial commitments and support towards the success of election as well as the Secretary to Oluyole LG, Hon Azeez Babalola, who also donated a branded Sienna bus and other campaign materials for his electoral victory, assuring that he would not let them down.
