….As Oluokun Peter Olusola Promises To Transform Oyo East to our Dream Space
In continuation of the Ward-to-Ward campaign tour of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo East local government chapter to woo voters, residents of Balogun and Jabata areas of Ward 06 and 07 have declared total support to ensure a productive victory for Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola and his vice, Hon. Mustapha Wasiu Waspha.
The campaign, tagged Omi-Aanu, energized the Balogun and Jabata areas as residents showed active readiness to mobilize across units and wards to ensure all-round votes for all PDP candidates come April 27, 2024.
Declaring the campaign event open, the Oyo State PDP Vice Chairman, Hon. James Olukunle, lauded the epoch-making ward tour. He further praised the residents for their aspirations for the ward’s development while assuring them of unwavering commitment to Oyo East’s development when Oluokun/Waspha assumed executive leadership.
He also emphasized that the party’s victory is assured, stating that the PDP remains the only party to beat based on its poverty-to-prosperity mission under His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde across the pacesetter State.
Speaking to the people, the Oyo East PDP Party Chairman, Hon. Sakiru Ojo, stated that the PDP had not come to campaign but to celebrate the party’s victory with the people ahead of the polls.
He highlighted the PDP’s achievements in the council area, emphasizing that the people would not hesitate to cast their votes for the party that has done so well for them.
While promising that the Ward 06 Councilor, Hon. Adebayo Akinkunmi Abdul Akeem, and Ward 07, Hon. Adebayo Abiodun Saheed (Sakolat), along with all the candidates, will bring dividends of democracy directly to the grassroots people at no cost, he urged the people to keep their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) safe, vote for PDP candidates, and be ready to defend their votes, stating that the days of ballot box snatching and stuffing by opposition elements were over.
Hon. Maroof Akinwande, in his speech, lauded the progressive campaign of the chairmanship and his councilorship candidate, urging the party faithful to campaign rigorously to ensure the victory of all candidates.
“Here in Oyo East, the PDP has been the only party that sought the development of communities, villages, and other local development,” he said, assuring the electorate that Oluokun will follow the transformative role of his father and is ready for grassroots governance.
Hon. Rafiu Adekunle, the Chairman of the Oyo State Pension Board, encouraged party members to see the forthcoming elections as an opportunity to work for themselves, emphasizing the party’s entrenched position in the LGA and its consistent winning streak since 1999.
He commended the steadfastness and commitment of party members, noting that the PDP is the only party that puts smiles on the faces of residents.
In her goodwill message, Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu praised God Almighty for the opportunity to grace the epoch-making ward-to-ward tour in Wards Six and Seven of the Oyo East Council area.
She commended the symbol of good governance leadership of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde, stating that his efficacy in fulfilling campaign promises remains unparalleled.
She urged party faithful and residents to vote massively for PDP and Omi-Aanu to restore the legacy of good governance, further urging the candidates to fulfill their promises and work massively in line with their blueprint.
“In government, life is rigorous, but life after governance is the best, especially for those who do good and put an end to the suffering of the people,” she said.
In his remarks at the gathering, the frontline chairmanship candidate, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola, hailed Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu and other leaders and stakeholders for their support at the right time, assuring Oyo East residents of unprecedented development in his regime. He pledged accessibility and transformation for the council.
He maintained that his incoming administration would embark on various policies aimed at making life more convenient for workers, residents, and less privileged citizens at the grassroots level.
