The Executive Chairman of Oyo West Local Government area, Ojongbodu, Oyo, Hon. Prince Salam Akeem Babatunde Olukitibi has congratulated and sent best wishes to the Muslim ummah as the fasting of 30-day Ramadan commenced today, Monday.

Prince Salam in a statement released and made available to Heritage Echo News added that the beginning of the holy month and It’s a time to imbibe good neighborliness and extend a helping hand to the needy considering this economic meltdown and other challenges
Explaining the core message of Ramadan, Prince Olukitibi asserted that; “Fasting is, first and foremost, an exercise for identifying and managing adversity in all its forms. With faith, in full conscience, fasting tends to purify belief and a way to stay close to Allah’s unlimited blessing” he stated.

The council Boss further said, “As we begin these 30 days of fasting season, let us not forget that Ramadan is not only about abstention from eating and drinking, but it is a reminder to refrain from all kinds of evil and transgressions that harm humanity.”

The Council Boss stressed challenging wealthy individuals and organizations to always share food and drinks with vulnerable and other less fortunate members of society, as a true reflection of the holy month.
