In a spirit of sportsmanship, the Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Kosobo Oyo, Hon. Arowosaye Saheed Adeyemi Arosad, has praised the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, for the rare opportunity given to him to serve the good people of the mother of them all Council. He made these remarks while assuring of PDP victory across units and wards for the forthcoming local government elections.

The Council Boss stated this on Monday during a rousing welcome to appreciate his presence at the weekly general meeting of PDP held at L. A Primary School, Jabata, Oyo.

Arowosaye commended the Governor for giving him the chance to govern the people at the grassroots level for four years as Caretaker to the democratically elected Council Chairman.

He recounted some of the successes recorded by his administration in different sectors, including health, education, agribusiness, security, and economic expansion.

“Without your leadership support, we would not have succeeded in placing our dear Oyo East on the path to sustainable development at the grassroots level,” Arowosaye stated.

Arowosaye further assured party members of the Ramadan package across Ward One to Ten before the commencement of the fasting day. He also noted that his annual Ramadan lecture will be held as usual.

“In Oyo East, PDP will win across units and wards in the April 27 local government elections. I’m ready to support Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola and Hon Wasiu Mustapha Waspha’s campaign across the council area,” he added.

“I’m glad, I’ll hand over to the democratically elected PDP candidate. This chairmanship seat is for one person designated for tenure.

I unseated someone, and truly I’ll leave for another person to take over after his/her victory at the poll. That’s how politics of development should be planned.

There’s time to fight, and there’s time to work for the party’s progress. Our leader has taught us politics of development, not fight. The umbrella is big enough to accommodate everyone,” he further stated.

Arowosaye also donated Five Hundred Thousand Naira (#500,000.00) to the Oluokun/Waspha campaign council and urged his supporters to come out en masse and deliver PDP Chairmanship and all Councilorship candidates in the Oyo East Council area.

In his speech after the donation, the chairman of the party, Hon. Sakiru Ojo, commended the chairman’s visit and his consistent support for the party.

He hailed him for his sportsmanship spirit and great legacy for making the party supremacy prevail while encouraging him to continue his good deeds towards the progress of the party.

Receiving the sum, the Director-general of the Oluokun/Waspha campaign, Alhaji Rasheed Agba, ably represented by Alhaji Mumini Eburuike, applauded the Executive Chairman for the cash donation to the campaign council towards a productive electioneering campaign.k

He explained the exclusive campaign timetable for the 2024 Oyo East Council elections, announced the itinerary, and affirmed that the campaign will flag off tomorrow.

Similarly, Arowosaye extended heartfelt greetings to his leaders, including Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka, Alhaji Ademola Santos, Chief Bayo Elegbed, Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, and others for their support throughout the period he spent in office.

“Oluokun Peter/Waspha is better than Thousands of APC at the Council. I’m ready to support the Campaign, and I’ll be readily available to support the campaign,” he stated.

In his entourage were: Alhaji Akinwumi Ejalonibu, Alhaji Mumini Owolabi (the Secretary of Oyo East Local Government), the Oyo East legislative arm, ward Chairmen, youth leaders, and local Excos members.
