The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, has unveiled plans to commission two road projects next week, in a bid to further boost the state’s economy and infrastructure.

In a recent bi-monthly newsletter, which was sent on Thursday night to citizens of Oyo State via email, Governor Makinde revealed that on the 15th of January 2024, the 7.2 km Agodi Gate–Old Ife Road-Adegbayi Junction with a spur to Alakia-Ibadan Airport (3.3 km) dualisation project will be commissioned.

According to him, this will be followed by the commissioning of the 12.5 km Challenge-Odo Ona-Elewe Apata Road dualisation project on the 22nd of January, 2024.

The Governor expressed optimism that these projects will contribute to opening up the state’s economy and attract more investments and residents.

He emphasized the importance of remaining positive in the face of challenges as the state works towards achieving its developmental goals.

“We may not be where we need to be, but we have made some progress, and our people should remain positive in the face of challenges as we work towards getting to where we want to be,” Governor Makinde stated in the newsletter.

The Governor’s commitment to infrastructure development and economic growth aligns with his vision for a turnaround in the state’s physical and economic environment in 2024.

He urged all residents to cooperate with relevant authorities as the state continues its journey towards becoming a well-governed entity under the rule of law.
