The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo West, Ojongbodu, has officially inaugurated a 164-member High-powered Campaign Council Committee in preparation for the upcoming local government elections.

This follows our previous report on the Subcommittee of the 7-member campaign council.

The committee, named “Olukitibi/Alade Liberation-Continuity Agenda,” was inaugurated on Thursday at the Oyo West Model Council in Ojongbodu, Oyo.

Leading the campaign committee is Hon. Wale Ogunsola, a former councilor during the Second Republic and a key figure in the Oyo West local government during Governor Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja’s regime. Ogunsola, previously the PDP party secretary for both the local and Oyo federal constituency, served two terms and was later appointed as the Campaign Director-general.

During the inauguration, Oyo West PDP Party Chairman, Alhaji Sarafadeen Oyedele Oloyo, emphasized the committee’s competence, courage, emotional intelligence, and political acumen, expressing confidence in their ability to secure a victory for the party and ensure the re-election of the incumbent executive Chairman, Hon. Prince Salam Olukitibi, and his vice, Alhaji Nureni Alade Adesola.

Oloyo stressed the committee’s responsibility to campaign at the grassroots level, ensuring a convincing win for the party and setting the target for the highest percentage of votes in favor of the Olukitibi/Alade Continuity bid in the Oyo West Council area.

Baba Adebayo and other stakeholders voiced assurance that the inaugurated committee would guarantee an all-round victory, urging them to vigorously campaign in the grassroots election.

They expressed confidence in the caliber of individuals within the committee and predicted PDP’s success in securing the Chairmanship and Councilorship seats in the April 27, 2024 council elections.
