NPFL: Ogunbote Optimistic of Change of Fortune

Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Gbenga Ogunbote, is not happy with the poor run of form of his team.

The Oluyole Warriors lost 0-2 to Rangers International of Enugu on Thursday, a result that extends the team’s winless streak to six matches.

In his post match interview after the Matchday 16 clash at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, the ‘Oracle’ as the gaffer is fondly called expressed unhappiness with the recent poor run of his team but assured of a change very soon.

“It is quite unfortunate that we have not won any game in couple of weeks, we are not comfortable with it, we are seriously working on it and by God’s grace, sooner than expected, we will bounce back”, stated the 3SC chief tactician.

On the match against the Flying Antelopes, Ogunbote hinted that the scoreline did not reflect the true colour of the game, stressing that his team was unfortunate to have conceded two goals, despite playing well.

“The players played well, only that our best was not enough, nobody will say we were humiliated, but be it as it may, we take the positives from it and shift focus to the next game”, concluded the former Enyimba of Aba sweat merchant.

Ogunbote and his wards will aim to return to winning ways come Sunday, January 7, 2024, when they play host to Bayelsa United on Matchday 17.
