2024 Budget, Land Grabbing: Oyo PDP Replies APC Over ‘Unfounded Assertions’

In response to the recent press release by the embattled spokesperson of the APC in Oyo State, Mr. Wasiu Sadare, on behalf of the party, wherein unfounded allegations were made regarding land grabbing and the supposed fraudulent nature of the 2024 budget proposal, we find it imperative to set the record straight.

Please take this as a comprehensive rebuttal based on factual information.

The recent claims made by the Oyo APC appear to be a desperate attempt to gain political relevance and to make noise by a party already in oblivion.

The balderdash released by their spokesman is lacking the substance needed to substantiate their assertions and claims.
Drawing from the engagement of the Commissioner for Budget and National Planning with relevant Stakeholders on the 8th of December 2023, it is evident that the Oyo State government is committed to transparency in its fiscal planning.

Contrary to the speculative narratives presented by the decimated Oyo APC, the 2024 budget proposal as explained by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning exemplifies the government’s dedication to fiscal responsibility and sustainable economic growth.

The language used in the budget document indicates a transparent approach towards revenue projections, ensuring accountability in financial matters.

Allegations of land grabbing and the insinuation that the government’s actions are chasing away investors are not only baseless but also seem to be crafted without due diligence. The administration led by Governor Seyi Makinde has consistently demonstrated its commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors. Policies have been implemented to attract investments that contribute meaningfully to the development and prosperity of the state.

Quoting the words used by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, he said “we reaffirm that the Oyo State government’s fiscal policies are geared towards fostering sustainable development and economic prosperity”

This statement is clear enough for a stable mind and any attempt to cast doubt on these efforts seems to be a calculated move by elements within the Oyo APC to distract from the administration’s substantial achievements.

It is regrettable that, rather than engaging in constructive dialogue, certain factions within the Oyo APC have chosen to rely on unfounded claims in an attempt to tarnish the image of the current administration. These tactics not only divert attention from real issues but also hinder the progress that the government is actively striving to achieve.

We urge the public to critically evaluate the

credibility of information provided by different sources and to exercise caution when faced with politically-motivated narratives.

The Oyo State government remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the people and fostering an environment conducive to growth and development.
In conclusion, we firmly ass

ert that the recent accusations from the Oyo APC lack merit and only serve to highlight the struggles of a political party seeking relevance and political survival from the very people they enslaved and annihilated for their inglorious eight year rule, no wonder the people of the State thoroughly rejected them at the polls.

We would like to strongly advise the embattled spokesman of the Oyo State APC, Mr. Wasiu Sadare to focus on issues and prepare for a long haul as an opposition spokesperson
