….. As OYSIEC set to publish Candidate Names

Stakeholders of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Awe, Afijio local government has called on Governor Seyi Makinde for fairness and Inclusiveness in the zoning of the Chairmanship Candidate of Afijio local government claiming that it’s Awe turn to produce the next Chairman of the local government.

The Awe Stakeholders says its the turn of Awe to produce the next Chairman as the seat is been rotated between Awe, Fiditi and Ilora,. Awe community is long overdue for the post even all others political parties choose their Chairmanship Candidates from Awe zone.

Furthermore, Awe CPC President who’s also the ‘Bada Of Awe land’ Chief Adesakin also testify that Fiditi is not the next zone to produce the Chairman of Afijio local government. ‘Without mincing words, Awe is the next to produce Afijio Chairmanship”, Chief Aderogba Adesakin, the Bada of Awe stated.

“The committee setup by the governor to investigate Afijio’s matter didn’t call the critical Stakeholders for any meeting before handpicking their prefered candidate. We wrote severe letters to the committee but nothing was done about it, they didn’t call us for questioning or any of such”.

Continuing, Council of Oba’s also warn politicians not to cause problem in the Zoning system of Afijio as LGA is known for due process, peace and harmony.

While commending Governor Makinde of being an exceptionally leader having successfully hiking up the state internally generated revenue without placing additional burden on the masses amidst economic turbulence, the Stakeholders plead with His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE to kindly look into the matter critically and judge without fear or favour and do justice by giving the slot to a deserving Chairmanship Candidate from Awe zone as they look forward to a landscape victory in the 2024 LG election in the state. Awe is the next on the line.
