Shooting Stars Sports Club attacking winger, Akpan Joshua, said he is a bit worried he hasn’t been able to find the back of the net this season, but is hopeful the goals will still come.

The former Abia Comets of Umuahia player has always been one of the leading goal getters since joining the Oluyole Warriors in the 2022l23 season.

However, the lively winger is yet to hit the target in the nine week old 2023/24 season, despite featuring in all but one game this season.

Akpan, who led the Oluyole Warriors to a 1-0 win over Kano Pillars in Sunday’ Matchday nine clash, said he will continue to push and hopefully look forward to scoring.

“Although I’m a bit worried about not scoring yet, but I will keep on trying my best until it comes.

“Who knows, it might come in our next game against Lobi Stars, nothing is impossible in footbal”, stated the winger, who however added that the overall success of the team remains paramount in his heart.

“Yes, as an individual, when you score, you are happy, but your joy is full when the team gets the result”, concluded the soft spoken player, who provided two assists in the Oluyole Warriors’ 4-1 win over Niger Tornadoes on Matchday seven.
