Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, maintained their hundred percent home record after a hard won one nil win over a Rabiu Ali inspired Kano Pillars FC.

Abdulkareem Ayinde Ademola emerged the match hero, as he came off the bench to score the only goal of the encounter, his third of the season

The coach Gbenga Ogunbote tutored lads started the Matchday nine fixture on a bright note, swooping on the visitors in search of an early goal.

Poor marksmanship coupled with goalkeeper Muhammed Galadima’s sharp reflexes, however robbed the Oluyole Warriors of the much sought after goal.

With the first half ending goalless, Shooting Stars started the second half with fresh legs, with the introduction of Abdulkareem and Archiv Douglass.

The substitution paid off ten minutes into the restart when Abdulkareem fired home the only goal, off a pass from Ayobami Junior, to send the near capacity filled stadium into wild jubilation.

Dazed by the goal, the coach Abdul Makaiba tutored Pillars, took the game to the hosts for the leveller but good defensive network by the quartet of Muritala Taye, Olawale Mutiu, Ayodeji Bamidele and Adelowo Gbolagade gave inform goalkeeper Anozie Chinedu, enough coverage.

Spirited efforts by both sides to change the scoreline proved abortive until the end of the well contested encounter.

The win takes the Oluyole Warriors to the third position on the log, with 17 points, same as first and second placed Doma United and Lobi Stars, who are however ahead as a result of better goal advantage.

The Ibadan soccer lords will next travel down to Lafia for a Matchday ten top of the table clash against Lobi Stars of Makurdi.
