In a bid to ensure peaceful relation and harmonize all party structure into a single entity ahead of the forthcoming local government election in Oyo State, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) local executives in Atiba local government has met the chairmanship candidate, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji (WABKEM), the vice chairman, Hon. Badmus Olaide and all the 10 Councilorship candidates.


It would be recalled that the Oyo State PDP in Ibadan on Monday conveyed a special meeting at the State Party Secretariat, Molete, with the notion to officially hand over all party candidates to the local government party Chairmen, entrusting them with the responsibility to diligently work for the success of the candidates at the polls next year.

Addressing the candidate at the local party office, Sakutu, Oyo, the party Secretary, Hon Kehinde Aleem appreciated the candidate’s presence while congratulating them on their recent successful screening at the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) office last week.

“As a party, we don’t have anything in our hearts against your selection as our preferred candidate for the Royal Council Chairmanship/Vice chairmanship position. We’re fully ready to propagate your ambition directly to the electorates based on your modalities of activities, we want to solidify all structures into a single entity for us to triumph”.


“Atiba PDP remains committed to upholding its principles and ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process, it’s crystal clear that we’re the only local government with a large buck vote based on the population and electorates’ interest in votes.”

Also, the party chairman, Hon. Kabiru Ashamu lauded the candidates for their peaceful conduct claiming that for the party to record a credible election, a productive campaigning process must take place and besides the party will organize a peaceful meeting with all aggrieved parties to sheathe sword and sought for the peace coexistence.
He further urged the candidate to streamline their campaign modalities together with the party, assuring that it would be a win-win for all at the coming council elections as PDP will sweep all votes.

Ashamu reiterated that the only recognized political party in Pacesetter State is PDP due to the People’s Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde’s performance across the nooks and crannies of the State, noting that “he’s indeed our pride, and we want the same replica in the Royal Council.”

In his Remarks, the Chairmanship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Atiba local government, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji WABKEM lauded the party’s local executives for their great steps towards moving the party forward against all odds.
Wabkem assured the party executive of a comprehensive campaign committee ahead of the official flag-off aimed to accommodate all structures for hitch-free exercise.

“In the Royal Council, it will be business unusual, as our great developmental program unfolds. Atiba residents will witness transformation in the areas of education, healthcare, rural road construction, agriculture, and provision of security and other notable social amenities
He further expressed concern about some party members, factions, and others claiming wrong notions about his candidacy not to venture by giving the public unconfirmed, doctored, and irrelevant information, saying they’re all chasing relegation shadow.

The Chairmanship hopeful assured the party that his interest in taking over the helm of affairs at the local government council was informed by the need to provide dividends of democracy at the grassroots level, devoid of nepotism, favoritism, and tribalism.

Presence at the meeting were; the party chairman, Hon. Kabiru Ashamu, party secretary, Hon. Kehinde Aleem, the woman leader Hon. Mrs. Lola Alao, Alhaji Mustapha Alesinladu (local vice Chairman), Mr. Abass Eruda (Ex-officio), Mr. Adeleke Gabriel (Gebu Oko) and the local youth leader, Comrade Sega.
