The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Hon. Fola Oyekunle, popularly known as “DoN,” of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner of the keenly contested bye-election for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency. The announcement was made on Sunday morning by the Returning Officer, Prof. Abiodun Oluwadare, at the INEC collation centre at Ikolaba High School, in Ibadan, Oyo State. According to the final results, Oyekunle polled a total of 18,404votes, defeating his closest rival, Adewale Murphy Olatunji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 8,312votes.

Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has inspected the Fresh FM Headquarters, Ibadan, parts of which were destroyed by fire on Friday. The governor, who arrived at the station around around 7.30pm, expressed his sympathy to the chairman of the Radio Station, Dr Olayinka Joel Ayefele and the management.
