The last batch of Oyo pilgrims have arrived the holy lands. The pilgrims numbering 466 took off from Murtala Muhammed Airport at 11:20 pm on Saturday night and arrived Madinah airport at 9am local time (7am Nigeria time). The pilgrims immediately went into supplications for the state and the country upon landing in Madinah. They are expected to visit the holy sites in Madinah, including Prophet Muhammad’s Mosque and tomb, before proceeding to Mecca for the completion of the Hajj rites. The Oyo State government has announced Alhaji Oluwatomiwa Omolewa, former Park Management System (PMS) Secretary, as the new Chairman.
