In a bid to enhance effective distribution of palliatives provided by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, has inaugurated a committee tasked with overseeing the distribution process within the local government area.

The inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Lagelu LG Secretariat, saw the chairman emphasize the importance of transparency and accountability in the distribution of the relief materials aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by residents due to various economic challenges assaulting the nation.

Addressing the newly constituted committee members, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen highlighted the need for diligence and fairness in ensuring that the palliatives reach the targeted beneficiaries across the wards, the local areas and communities within local government. He stressed that the committee’s role is crucial in maintaining public trust and confidence in the government’s efforts to provide support during challenging times.

The committee, comprising representatives from various sectors including security stakeholders, traditional ruler(s) community leaders, women groups, youths, special persons, faiths representatives, and civil society, is expected to work collaboratively to identify targeted beneficiaries and coordinate the distribution process in a manner that prioritizes those most in need.

Furthermore, the chairman reassured residents of Lagelu Local Government of the government’s commitment to their welfare and urged them to cooperate with the committee to facilitate a smooth and efficient distribution exercise.
