In a significant move to improve the sanitation and environment of Ona Ara Local Government, Executive Chairman Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS has successfully overseen the clearing of a long-standing refuse pile at the main entrance of Olorunsogo overhead bridge.
A report signed by the Press Secretary to the Chairman, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, and made available to newsmen on Friday evening, highlighted the enthusiastic response from residents, traders, and transporters in the vicinity.
The community is visibly uplifted, witnessing Dr. Glorious, accompanied by the Director of Environment, Mrs. Popoola, and her team, personally inspected the clearing operation from morning till evening.
One of the traders, Mrs. Afusat Akinsola, shared her excitement with Freshvoice Newsmedia, stating, “It’s a new era in Ona Ara Local Government. The refuse had been there for a long time, and seeing it finally cleared brings great relief.” She concluded with a heartfelt prayer for Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, wishing him success in his tenure.
In light of this achievement, the Executive Chairman also issued a stern warning to residents and passersby to cease the practice of dumping refuse at the site. Maintaining a clean and healthy environment is a shared responsibility, and the community’s cooperation is crucial in sustaining these efforts.
