The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) to Governor Seyi Makinde, Saka Moshood Olawale has has described the present government as truly God’s sent by successfully conducting two consecutive local government elections in the state within five years.

The governor’s aide gave the commendation yesterday while speaking to westernmirror.com.ng correspondent at the OYSIEC state headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan, shortly after the conclusion of the exercise.

According to the SSA, such feat was unprecedented in the history of Oyo state and it further exemplifies the commitment of Governor Makinde to entrench democracy at the grassroots.

The Oyo born governor’s aide also commended OYSIEC chairman, Aare Isiaka Olagunju, for adequately deploying all available human and material resources for the success of the just concluded Council poll noting that history would reckon with him.

Saka explained that the electoral success described as remarkable feat has garnered praise from various quarters stressing the critical role played by Governor Makinde and the electoral Commission in upholding the principles of democracy in the state.

“The recently concluded elections were conducted with transparency and efficiency, reflecting how well the commission has improved on its capacity and ability to deliver free, fair, and credible elections, and most importantly, the dedication of OYSIEC and its leadership.” Moshood stated.

He emphasized the importance of free and fair elections in ensuring democratic governance is deeply rooted at the local government level and praised Governor Makinde for his unwavering support towards attaining such accomplishment.

Saka also reiterated the commitment of OYSIEC to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, promising continued efforts to improve and enhance future elections in the state.

He charged all the winners at the just concluded council poll to see their victories as a call to service stressing that the people have played their part to give winners a three years mandate to hold their electoral offices in trust for grassroots development.

While expressing satisfaction, Saka equally lauded the cooperation and participation of stakeholders, including political parties, candidates, and voters, in ensuring the success of the electoral exercise.

“The successful completion of two elections within a short timeframe underpins the progress made in deepening democratic practices in Oyo State under the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.

“The good people of Oyo state can now reaffirm that Governor Makinde is a leader who always walks the talks which clearly cemented his nickname on the streets as ‘Mr talk and do.” Moshood added.
