
According to the news reaching the Heritage Echo Newsroom, properties worth millions of naira have been destroyed as a result of a fire that engulfed a residential building in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to the report, the incident occurred at 16 Zone 5, Agoro Aroko, Brewery, Alakia area in Ibadan.

Our correspondent noted that the incident occurred Thursday evening.

It was learnt that the residential building of eight rooms was affected by the inferno.


However, properties worth millions of naira were affected as a result of the incident.

No lives were lost in the incident.
Special Adviser to the Governor, who doubles as Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident.
Akinwande explained that no life was lost in the incident.
According to him, officers of the agency were immediately mobilised to the scene as soon as they were informed.
He said, “On arrival, they met a private residential building of eight(8) rooms engulfed in flames, with thick smoke billowing from the affected building.
“The fire crew immediately commenced firefighting operations, and within a short period, the fire was completely extinguished”.
Residents applauded the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, for providing state-of-the-art equipment to the State Fire Service in response to emergencies.
Akinwande further educated the residents on fire safety equipment to prevent further occurrences.
