Former Chief Whip of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in the House of Representatives, who is also the Babameto of Ibadanland, Honourable Babatunde Oduyoye, has congratulated Okanlomo Oodua, Engr. Jibril Dotun Sanusi on his elevation to the title of Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Oduyoye, who occupied the Rep seat between 1999 and 2007, said in a congratulatory message addressed to Engr Sanusi and made available to newsmen on Friday, that the Okanlomo has been duly elevated to the rank of Gbonka Olubadan in the Olubadan Chieftaincy line, because of his dedication to the service of his immediate community, Ibadanland, and Oyo State as a whole.
Oduyoye said: ‘I rejoice with you, my dear brother, on the well-deserved elevation to the rank of Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland. This is a testimony to your selfless and dedicated service to the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State as a whole. It is an understatement to state that the impact of your service is felt across all areas of human endeavour in our dear state.

“As a person, you have chosen to serve your people with all your heart and to the best of your capacity. Every observant resident of this state can testify to seeing your Midas touch reflected in the development of our state and the people. You have been a pillar of growth and development and a dependable ally of all and sundry.

“Your elevation, therefore, cannot be a thing of surprise to those of us who have closely watched your strength of character and humane dispositions. My appreciation goes to His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewole Ladoja, Arusa 1, for approving this elevation, as well as the support of the Olubadan- in- Council all through the elevation process.

“Your contributions to the growth of different sectors in the state have been remarkable. Not a few are impressed by your inimitable efforts in the development of tourism, sports, agriculture, youth empowerment, and general socio-cultural engineering.
