The Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, has expressed deep sympathy with the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), and the families of victims affected by the recent abduction incident in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

Hon. Oyekola, who represents the good people of Atiba State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, described the incident as painful, unfortunate, and a serious concern to all well-meaning residents of the state.

He sympathized with parents and guardians of the abducted victims, urging them to remain hopeful and prayerful while security agencies intensify efforts to secure the safe return of the victims.

The Chief Whip also commended the swift response of the Oyo State Government under the leadership of Governor Makinde, as well as the efforts of security operatives working tirelessly to rescue the abducted victims and restore calm in the affected communities.

Hon. Oyekola further called on security agencies to strengthen intelligence gathering and surveillance across vulnerable areas to prevent future occurrences, stressing that the protection of lives and property must remain a top priority.

He equally appealed to residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and useful information that could aid ongoing rescue operations and enhance security across the state.

“The safety of our children, teachers, and every resident of Oyo State is non-negotiable. I share in the pain of the affected families and pray for the quick and safe return of the victims,” he stated.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to supporting every legislative and community-driven effort aimed at improving security and safeguarding the welfare of citizens across Oyo State.
