The Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF) is a sociopolitical group founded by Oloye Benedict Akika JP, which dedicated to the Omituntun ideology of Engr Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State of the sustainability agenda, is applauding the governor’s commitment to purposeful governance and promise-keeping.
The group which cut across all local governments in the state and beyond noted that Nigeria’s evolving political landscape marked by shifting alliances and growing uncertainty demands leadership measured not by rhetoric, but by tangible achievements, consistency, and courage.
According to the forum, their endorsement of Governor Makinde is rooted not in routine political alignment, but in a clear assessment of his performance and delivery in office.
The group described Makinde as a father and leader who has consistently prioritized governance above political theatrics, emphasizing results-driven policies and people-focused initiatives. While many political actors remain preoccupied with future electoral permutations, Oyo State, they said, continues to experience steady progress anchored on discipline and strategic focus.
OBF further highlighted the governor’s role within the Peoples Democratic Party, noting that strong-performing governors like Makinde are critical to the party’s ongoing repositioning and national relevance. They described him as a symbol of stability, credibility, and direction within the party.
Citing developments across multiple sectors, the forum pointed to improvements in infrastructure, education, worker welfare, and human capacity development as clear indicators of effective governance under the Makinde administration.
Importantly, the forum declared its total political alignment with the governor, affirming that members of OBF are fully prepared to follow his political direction wherever it leads. The group stressed that its loyalty is anchored on trust in his leadership, vision, and proven track record, expressing readiness to support him in any future political decisions.
“At the grassroots, we engage directly with the people daily,” the statement read. “We hear their concerns and see their expectations. More importantly, we witness their increasing confidence in this administration. This support is not artificial but earned through visible impacts.”
